About The Congress

Welcome to the World Congress of Performance Analysis of Sport IX: ‘Learning from Analysis’

Welcome from Congress Organising Chair:

On behalf of the Institute of Sport & Exercise Science, I have great pleasure in inviting you to attend the World Congress of Performance Analysis of Sport IX in Worcester. The Congress will be held at the University of Worcester, Worcester, England from the 25th – 28th July 2012 so that you can take advantage of the opportunity to extend your stay in Worcester as a central base from which to travel to attend many of the 2012 London Olympic events.

In the programme we have world leading keynote speakers from the world of Performance Analysis, over 120 oral presentation spaces for original world class research and six hours of formal poster presentation sessions to disseminate learning from cutting edge science and research covering all aspects of the analysis of sport & performance.

The keynote sessions will be critical reviews of the most recent and key issues in Sport Performance Analysis, with recommendations for future research and avenues for real world application delivered by the most renowned academics and practitioners in the field.

The oral sessions will be themed to reflect the desires of the Congress participants to ensure that sessions maximise the opportunity to share, engage with and reflect upon cutting edge questions in particular interest areas.

The poster sessions will be organised to permit delivery of key messages by authors, whilst permitting time for all delegates to mix, interact and develop academic friendships through research and endeavour in sports performance analysis.

The inclusive social programme will permit the informal sharing of ideas, opportunities and collaborations both academic and social, and in so doing will ensure that WCPAS 9 remains true to the friendly, social, engaged community feel of all previous World Congress.

We hope that Worcester will be the largest Congress to date and that it will provide a vibrant, innovative and world class scientific programme to stimulate you all. We will be supported by a number of commercial partners, with a wide range of performance analysis relevant exhibitors and contributors so please do make this your priority congress to meet new people, learn from each other, exchange ideas and make plans for the future.

If you have only one chance to go to a conference in Olympic year, make sure you come to this one!
